Yoga at the Birge Festival

A day of community and good vibrations through yoga, music, meditation and dance

On Saturday, November 5th, find yourself for a peaceful day of retreat, fun and rejuvenation through yoga, meditation, music and dance in a beautiful, historic location, the Birge Mansion, on Symphony Circle in Buffalo, N.Y.

The ballroom in the Birge Mansion is one of the most beautiful places I’ve had the pleasure of seeing and spending time in.  And, we have a special opportunity to bring yoga, meditation, music and movement to this wonderful space!

To be honest, it was the thought of doing yoga in such a beautiful space that was the initial inspiration for this festival. And, now it’s blossomed into a beautiful offering with four instructors, inspirational music and community.

This festival is perfect for the complete beginner to advanced practitioner in yoga, meditation and mindfulness, ages 12+. All genders and orientations are welcome. This facility is not wheelchair accessible. If you would like to participate and require accessibility, please send me a message here.

Megan Callahan, Founder of Yoga Parkside

Megan’s sacred path began early in life. She knew as a young child that she was meant to be a healer and teacher. She loves to work with people to help them become more connected to and aware of their bodies’ innate wisdom and potential. She found her way to yoga and meditation as a young teen ago to help with a serious physical condition, and continues to be amazed and humbled by what is discovered on the mat. She has been teaching for over ten years and has studied many forms of yoga including Vinyasa, Iyengar, Kripalu, Bhakti and Integral, as well as Pilates, the Andrei Droznin method, and the Michael Chekhov Technique.

She is also an energy worker, embodiment and conscious communication coach, musician, director. Her Vinyasa classes are a lovely way to explore building strength and confidence: opening bodies and hearts with compassion and gratitude, working at letting go of goals and expectations, and discovering peace. Megan combines her deep knowledge of therapeutic knowledge, alignment and philosophy of energy work into her classes, working with compassion and love as the universal life force is strengthened and balanced. Her classes also often include chanting, unique sequences and self-inquiry using yogic and buddhist principles.

Megan Callahan will be teaching an invigorating yoga class with pranayama (yogic breathing exercises)

Monica Zucco of Yoga for Every Body

I love yoga and meditation because they offer opportunities for fresh perspectives and insights into well-being.

My classes and personal practice emphasize mindfulness and self-compassion. I believe that being fully present in our bodies is key to experiencing the richness of life. I enjoy attending to the individual needs of my students and supporting the growth of their personal practices.

Through years of teaching, I have noticed that many people struggle with chronic stress. Drawing on my training and experience in restorative yoga and meditation, my classes help people unwind and calm their nervous systems.

As my personal path continues to evolve, so does my teaching. My current class offerings include slow flow, gentle and restorative yoga and mindfulness meditation. I love sharing and supporting others in these life enhancing practices.

I offer mindful movement and meditation classes and workshops throughout WNY through my business, yogaforeverybodybuffalo.com and at bemindfulliving.com.

Monica Zucco will be teaching a meditation class with some gentle yoga at Yoga at the Birge.

Haykel founded Salsa for the Soul in 2008, a dance company whose goal is to promote healthy, harmonious relationships through Latin partner dancing, guided by a foundation in inclusivity, respectful relationships, fun and cultural education and celebration.

Sarah Haykel will be teaching an upbeat wildly grounding and centering dance meditation called The Chakra Dance Tune-Up class followed by deep relaxation at Yoga at the Birge.

Dance is a metaphor for life. Everything we learn on the dance floor, to be great dancers, can be applied to our lives so that we can live healthier and happier lives, and have great relationships!
